India signs climate-resilient infrastructure pact with Nordic nations

India has signed a comprehensive pact with five Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland) to co-develop climate-resilient infrastructure projects in coastal cities. The agreement covers floating houses, floodproof metros, carbon-absorbing pavements, and geothermal cooling. Chennai, Kochi, and Mumbai will host pilot projects. The initiative also includes startup accelerators to co-develop tech with Nordic innovators. It is supported by the UN Green Climate Fund and Indian Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Officials aim to scale these designs across all 100 Smart Cities by 2030.
